Grono sits on the right bank of the Moesa, exactly where the Calanca flows into the Mesolcina. It is the junction of the two valleys: anyone driving up into the Calanca passes through, and the Roveredo motorway exit is just over a kilometre away.

Since 1 January 2017 the municipality is no longer only Grono: after a vote and a cantonal decree it absorbed Leggia and Verdabbio. On paper one municipality, in people’s heads still three villages — and for a business that difference is a daily practical problem.

Grono is also where Gazosa La Fiorenzana is made, named after the tower that stands in the village: one of the few Moesano products recognised outside the valley without explanation.

02

When the municipality’s name no longer says where you are

After a merger something odd happens: the official address says «Grono», but the customer searches «Leggia» or «Verdabbio», because to them that is still the name of the place. If your site and Google profile carry only the new name, half the searches never find you.

The fix needs no tricks: write where you actually are — the hamlet, the street, the landmark everyone knows — and let the map do the rest. It is for people, not for search engines.

03 — In practice, here

01

Name all three villages

Grono, Leggia and Verdabbio, written where it makes sense, on a page that genuinely explains where you are.

02

You are the way into the Calanca

Everyone heading up the side valley passes you. For a bar, a shop or a garage, that is an audience worth naming.

03

Products that travel out of the valley

If what you make can be shipped or ordered, the website is how you sell it to people who never set foot in the Mesolcina.
